Sy Parrish

Sy Parrish is an American interdisciplinary artist from Portland, Oregon.  Her sculpture works explore themes of time, memory, and place often with a surrealist twist.  She works  primarily in site-specific, installation, land art, and light art.

Sy's performance works draw from fifteen years as an aerialist and site-specific theater maker. Much of this work relies on using text and narrative to create choreography set to spoken-word and dialogue. She has created pieces set on staircases, fire escapes, grain silos, cars, ladders, rooftops, in warehouses, galleries, and office spaces as well as traditional theater venues.

She currently resides in Portland, Oregon with her husband and two cats.
